Botox and fillers are two completely separate things, used for entirely different reasons. Fillers are used to restore lost volume, enhance volume / shape, and or add definition. Fillers are composed of hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring substance in our bodies. In summary, lip filler is a non-surgical, non-invasive treatment that quickly and effectively enhances the shape and volume of the lips. Results are noted immediately, while it will take 2 full weeks for the filler to settle, and healing to be deemed complete!
After getting lip filler, your lips may look overfilled or puffy at first due to the swelling. Don’t worry - this effect is temporary. Common short-term side effects after lip injections that you may experience include swelling, bruising, pain or tenderness, itching, lumpiness, or numbness. All of this is normal, and the feeling or firmness will resolve in the first few days while the area softens as it heals. This ultimately will leave you with a gorgeous, subtle, soft and plump look!
Injectable fillers can last anywhere between 6-12 months, depending on each person. Due to the nature of our lips, where they are being moved around alot with activities of daily life, they can sometimes last closer to 6-9 months give or take. Other factors that may affect longevity of your filler for example is metabolism - clients who are more active may notice that they require touch-ups sooner. Generally speaking, we recommend touch-ups every 6-12 months in order to maintain the best results.
Our filler treatments are performed by our certified nurse injectors, who are very proficiently trained and knowledgeable in facial anatomy. You would first be made comfortable for the procedure with the use of topical numbing cream, and continuously reassessed throughout the duration of the procedure that you remain comfortable. All in all, the appointment takes about 45 to 60 minutes from start to finish and then WA-LA!

Our neurotoxin treatments are administered by our two certified nurse injectors, who have a deep understanding of the facial anatomy and appropriate neurotoxin placement, as well as injection techniques. Neurotoxins are a quick and safe procedure that have little to no impact on usual activity. Generally, neurotoxin injection side effects are rare and recovery is extremely swift. Minor common side effects include bruising, pain, and or swelling at the injection site, and a slight headache.
We know that physiologically speaking, it takes 14 full days before we are able to see the full effects of these neurotoxins in effect. Some patients may see results as little as 3-5 days after treatment, but a full 14 days is needed to appreciate the maximum benefit of this treatment. On average, neurotoxin treatments last on average between 3-4 months, with the peak effects seen at 6 weeks post injections. We recommend that most patients schedule touch-ups every 3-4 months to maintain the best possible results.
